Alright, so here we go again. Yep, I’m working on another book. My second one, actually. This one’s going to be longer than the first, and why? Because my female husband bestie from another testie—shoutout to you, Tort!—said she wanted to be able to actually read the title on the spine this time. So, thanks for the push!
Anyway, this new book is basically the same vibe as the first one (Love, Life, & Mental Illness) , but now we’re diving deep into my childhood. I grew up as a military brat with divorced parents, dealing with all that fun stuff like moving constantly, trying to figure out life while everything shifted around me, and then realizing oh wait, late-diagnosis trauma is a thing. Turns out, having BPD, GAD, and depression wasn’t just about surviving in the present—it was about unpacking years of parental wounds I never knew were there.
I’m also a mom, raising kids who act like little versions of me and my husband, and honestly? Healing my inner child by loving them the way I wish I had been loved. So, yeah, there’s gonna be a lot of talk about my trauma, a sprinkle of poetry, some fond memories, and maybe a few brain dumps from younger me. Oh, and I might throw in some of my old artwork too, just for fun. But hey, I'm writing another book, and it’s coming together, slowly but surely.
On top of that, I’ve got other writing projects simmering on the back burner—because, of course, I do. Some are fiction, with a bit of smutty romance (you’re welcome), and then there’s my manifesto... which is basically Alice in Wonderland meets demon hunting. I know, I know. It’s a lot.
But here’s the kicker: I also work part-time at a game store, raise chickens, kids, pets, and plants. So yeah, busy is an understatement. My brain loves to throw all my passion projects into a slow simmer, and sometimes I forget to focus on me. It’s that whole caregiver, people-pleasing issue. I forget about myself, and it sucks. So, I’m in therapy working on that too.
All of this to say—yes, I have issues with scheduling, routine, and marketing myself. But I’m finding ways to make it work. Like right now, while I’m typing this post, I’m waiting for my Dawn Powerwash to soak off the scum from my stove (there’s a sneaky link for you—you're welcome, reader). Finding balance is hard, especially with a neuro-spicy brain like mine. But it can be done.
And this is where you come in! If you enjoyed this post or are even just a little curious about my projects, it would mean the world if you’d share it. Tell a friend, post it to your socials, or shout about it from your metaphorical rooftops. Word of mouth helps indie creators like me reach more people and keep the passion alive. So, thank you for supporting my little corner of the creative world. 💜 Stay tuned for my next post where I’ll probably be complaining about how hard it is to market myself. See you there!
